Check for updates when program starts
If you are connected to the internet, select the time interval for checking of
updates. When the program starts, it will connect to the Davar4 web site
(www.davar3.net) and get information about program updates. After the check is performed, you will be informed in small window if new program updates are available or not.
If you select check ‘every day’ option, the check is performed only once a
day, even if you start the program more often.
You can check for updates manually from menu: Help | Perform check for updates.

Check for updates first get small text file from program homepage, compare date in PC with date of last check (stored in davar.cfg file) and dates of actualizations in retrieved file. After evaluation, selected part of retrieved text file is displayed in information window. |
Acrobat Reader DDE server name
This option is important for functionality of PDF reference tag. When you click this tag, Davar4 determines the name of PDF file and page where to open. Acrobat Reader use for opening specific page DDE mechanism, where you need to know internal DDE server name.
Unfortunatelly, this name is different in each Adobe Acrobat Reader program. Also, sometimes is hard to get proper name from windows registry and all process of synchronization PDF with Davar4 fail.
If you observe bad functionality (PDF file is opened, but not at specific page according tag), you can adjust DDE server name. This name is initiated to name from windows registry. You can fix it manually, if necessary.
Versions of acrobat and known DDE server names:
Adobe Reader X: AcroViewR10
Adobe Reader XI: AcroViewR11
Acrobat Reader DC: AcroViewR15
Export - default setting for popup book menu
Here you can specify default text format and style for Quick export, which is displayed in popup of book text.
Use long books names in direct access popup menu
When checked, direct access popup menu is created from full length book names (default option).

Some controls in toolbar will have high contrast.
